Some past exciting things from 2022:
Our first feature film Dream Agency (Directed by Andy Field and Deborah Pearson, written by a lot of people connected to Forest Fringe, made by and for Forest Fringe) premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in August. You can watch us being interviewed about it here.Â
The Royal Court asked me to write a short performance in July for their Living Archive series, recreating my memory of a show I saw by Lucy Ellinson in 2009. It was directed by Hamish Pirie and was an instruction based piece that facilitated original intimate performances Doreene Blackstock, Deja Bowers, Stefan Chanyaem, Adam Fenton, Amy Forrest and Anna Leong Brophy.
And of course the collaboration I made with Action Hero The Talent finally premiered at Teatro do Bairro Alto in Lisbon in April. I wrote an essay about the piece for the programme notes that I’m pretty proud of.
Very Very Like Really Awkwardly Old News…
Some upcoming dates for History History History in the UK!
April 20th and 21st at the Barn Cinema in Dartington
June 1st at the Warrington Arts Centre in Warrington
June 13th at the Lowry in Manchester
In May I’ll be working with one of my favourite groups of people, Dictaphone Group and our own Forest Fringe, on a brand new project in Beirut. I’ll be there with Tania El Khoury, Abir Saksouk, Petra Serhal, Andy Field and Brian Lobel.
In July I’m off to Lisbon to work with the wonderful mala voadora on our untitled “Money” project.
My Portuguese adventures don’t end there. (Thank goodness!) This year I’m also writing a play to be performed by young people for the PANOS Project – formerly at Culturgest, now at the National Theatre of Portugal. Watch this space for more info.
Dates for Inside Bitch with Stacey Gregg and Clean Break tba – but they’re coming and it’s VERY exciting. I wish I could say more.
And of course get in with Forest Fringe’s Amateurs Club at Somerset House if you haven’t already. We’re going to make a good old fashioned movie and we want you involved!
